The history of drinking songs goes back as far as both music and booze go. Blues, country, rock and roll, folk, all lend themselves well to the ills of the partier. I'll try to feature those souls who have been consumed by the devil's water as well. Some of the greats like Janis, Jimi and now, Amy. My goal with this list is to have one of the most definitive collections of drinking songs with lyrics, and I'll try my best to have videos for all of them as well.

Some artists are a wealth of material, just think of George Thorogood. He has so many drinking songs, with classics like 'I drink alone' and the quintessential 'One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer' which should be at the top of any drinking song list, no question. While I've always loved some of the greats that I grew up listening to, as I amass this list I am learning about so many new artists and songs...one of my new favs would be Booze Party by Three Aces & A Joker. If I think about it, it gets stuck in my head all day.
